Westchester Estate Law & Probate

As a New York attorney since 2014 and Westchester County resident, I understand that legal challenges often come at life’s most stressful moments. Whether you’re settling a parent’s estate, planning for your family’s future, or growing your business, you need an attorney who combines legal expertise with genuine care for your situation.
I focus exclusively on trusts and estates, probate administration, and small business transactions throughout Westchester County, including Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Tarrytown, Scarsdale, White Plains, and surrounding communities. This focused practice allows me to provide deep expertise in the areas that matter most to local families and business owners.
About Nicole
I founded Nicole Tarpey Law PLLC in 2025 to provide accessible, practical legacy planning and estate administration for Westchester County families and small businesses.
My practice focuses on helping families protect what they’ve built through wills, trusts, probate proceedings, healthcare directives, and powers of attorney. I also work with small business owners on commercial real estate transactions, business succession planning, and contract negotiation. I’m particularly committed to serving LGBTQ+ families and Solo Agers who need thoughtful legal protections.
Background
Before starting my practice, I spent nearly five years as in-house counsel at Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, where I drafted and negotiated legal agreements with over 300 commercial and industrial tenants. I managed a high-volume leasing practice across manufacturing facilities, negotiated complex financial transactions including Historic and New Markets tax credit projects, and developed company-wide compliance policies.
After that intensive transactional work, I founded and ran Lemon Terrace Florals, a floral studio in Hastings-on-Hudson. I grew the business to $250,000 in annual revenue and successfully sold it in 2024. That experience gave me firsthand insight into what small business owners face: the pressure of financial decisions, the complexity of contracts that aren’t written for regular people, and the challenge of planning for the future while managing the present.
My earlier work in community development – including research and advocacy around industrial development and affordable housing through Pratt Center for Community Development – reinforces my commitment for Nicole Tarpey Law to serve real people with real needs, not just corporate clients or the ultra-wealthy.

Personal
I’m a proud mom of two kids and have lived in Westchester County since 2019. In my free time, you’ll find me coaching youth softball or playing on women’s rec softball and volleyball teams. My family includes members with special needs diagnoses and on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. That lived experience shapes how I think about estate planning: something that should be accessible to working families and with the flexibility to accommodate every family and person.
Our Focus
Protecting What You’ve Built
Every family & person’s legacy deserves careful planning.
Trusts & Estates Planning
Planning for your family’s future shouldn’t be overwhelming or only for the ultra-wealthy. Whether you have young children who need guardians named, aging parents to consider, or simply want to ensure your assets pass to your loved ones without unnecessary complications, proper estate planning provides peace of mind for middle-class families throughout Westchester County.
Commercial Transactions
Whether you need advice on your lease, help filing for a new business or Not-for-profit, or support enforcing a contract, we have the experience needed to ensure your investment is protected.
Probate
Losing a parent or loved one is never easy. When you’re also facing the legal process of settling their estate, the paperwork and court requirements can feel overwhelming. You don’t have to navigate New York’s probate process alone.
